Our Story

The History of Found & Woven

Found & Woven

Founded in 2003 out of a Pregnancy Resource Center, If Not For Grace Ministries, became an independent 501(c)(3) organization in 2008. Guided by Isaiah 61:1-3, INFG spent many years developing a model of care and delivery of services. Initially, the ministry primarily served individuals in-person around the Kansas City Metro area. However, the onset of COVID-19 in 2020 necessitated a shift to offering our services online. Within months, the reach expanded nationwide, and we began serving a more diverse demographic, including variations in age, time since abortion, and abortion methods.

Our Transformation

As we adapted to these changes, we observed that many of our clients were experiencing trauma at unprecedented levels. Additionally, many of them were outside the church community, feeling isolated, desperate, and with nowhere to turn. We realized that our existing name and materials were not resonating with these individuals as they once had.

After much prayer, counsel, and intentional reflection, we embarked on a rebranding journey to better connect with those seeking our support. This process led to the birth of our new name: Found & Woven.

Our Inspiration

Isaiah 61:1-3

If Not For Grace was guided by Isaiah 61:1-3 to develop a proven model of care:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

Found & Woven is inspired by Ecclesiastes 4:12 to meet the prominent struggle of isolation and lack of community that we are hearing from those reaching out for help.
Ecclesiastes 4:12

Found & Woven is inspired by Ecclesiastes 4:12 to meet the prominent struggle of isolation and lack of community that people share they experience.

“And one standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer; three is even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
